The Trigger-Based Re-Engagement: Monitor your dead leads for business changes — new locations, hiring announcements, new projects, or leadership changes. When you spot one, reach out with: "Hi [Name], I saw that [Company Name] just [specific change — opened a new location, won a big contract, etc.]. That's exciting. I wanted to reach out because with that kind of growth, your insurance needs have probably changed too. I know we weren't able to connect last time, but I'd love to take a fresh look at your coverage to make sure it's keeping up with where your business is today. Open to a quick conversation?"
The Value-Add Re-Engagement: Instead of asking for a meeting, lead with something useful. Subject: "Thought of you — [specific topic]." Body: "Hi [Name], I just put together a guide on [relevant topic — e.g., how to reduce workers comp mod rates, new compliance requirements, industry-specific risk trends] and thought of [Company Name]. I've attached it here — figured it might be useful regardless of where your insurance is placed. If you ever want to revisit your coverage, my door is always open." This approach re-establishes you as a resource without applying any pressure, and it keeps your name in their inbox for when the timing is finally right.
